G Narendra, a seasoned and experienced dancer, trained at Kalakshetra Chennai, is now becoming well recognised for his choreographic skills. In 1996 he assisted Jothi Rhaghavan in choreographing her multimedia ballet, Kanya. He also choreographed several passages in Abhyaasa, CCA's production in 1999. His creativity in Choreography is being recognised not only by his peers but also by senior dance gurus such as the Dhananjayans, who have asked him to compose certain sections for their artists.
Narendra has performed extensively in India and abroad. He performed lead roles in the Kalakshetra ballets and has toured with them in Europe. He was Sher Khan, in CCA`s collaborative production Jungle Book. He played the role of Shiva in Jaya Jaya Devi, CCA's first production, in 1994. He has performed with the renowned dancer Leela Samson, in her production, Spanda. He is also a gifted teacher and has conducted Bharata Natyam dance workshops in Cleveland for the last seven years.

He trained at Kalakshetra, is a gifted actor and dancer. He has participated in several Kalakshetra ballets. He has also performed with reputed choreographers like the Dhananjayans, Leela Samson and Lakshmi Viswanathan. He played the role of Mowgli in the national tour of Jungle Book and performed in Abhyaasa, both CCA productions. Joy is also a fashion designer. He is the costume designer for this production. He has also established a boutique in Chennai, designing & tailoring, casual wear and dance costumes.


MahalakshmiProduction Assistant: Mahalakshmi
Mahalakshmi hails from a family steeped in dance; daughter of the Kameswarans, well respected Bharata Natyam gurus. Her early training was under Guru Vazhuvoor Ramiah Pillai. She underwent advanced training in BharataNatyam at Kalakshetra. She has toured both in india and abroad with Kalakshetra, peforming in several of their ballets, and with Bharata Kalanjali. Among her notable performances are her expressive portrayals at Manthra in Sita Rama Katha and us Uma in Jaya Jaya Devi. She also performed in CCA's Jungle Book and Abhyaasa and in Leela Samson's production Spanda. She is a beautifully elegant dancer with a flair for expressive dance. For this particular production, Mahalakshmi has taken on the added responsibility of assisting in the production and serving as dance instructor during choreography and rehearsals.
